
Legado Coffee
Legado Coffee is a Stellenbosch-based specialty coffee roaster with a strong physical and online presence, serving coffee lovers across South Africa. When Legado came to SONICK, the goal was to gain a clearer understanding of how their brand was being perceived by their audience, and how they could stand out within a highly competitive industry. The relationship began with a broad mandate: take stock of everything Legado. We started by mapping the full landscape of Legado's brand, online and offline. That meant reviewing their digital presence, assessing their customer experience, and examining the smaller details that either build or erode brand trust over time. The result was a 70+ page brand audit, a structured look at every touchpoint through the eyes of the customer. Does this feel like Legado? Does it earn trust? Does it invite people back? Each section came with specific, actionable suggestions rather than vague direction, giving the Legado team a clear picture of where their brand was strong, and where the biggest opportunities sat.




With the audit complete, we turned our attention to something more immediate: packaging for Legado's new range of coffee pods. Produced in partnership with 4WKS Coffee and compatible with Nespresso machines, the pods represent Legado's first move into the home brewing market and first impressions matter. The packaging needed to do a lot at once: feel premium, stay true to the brand, and communicate clearly on shelf: origin, tasting notes, roast level.

All other designs, mockups, and creative directions featured in this case study are recommendations produced as part of the brand audit and were not implemented by the client.
